Boulder's public skate park sits inside Scott Carpenter Park at 30th and Arapahoe, between the pool and the playground. It's the natural meeting point for Boulder lessons: central, on RTD routes, and surrounded by open grass where parents can wait.

We coach adults who always wanted to learn, CU students looking for a new way to get around, and kids who need someone patient to show them the basics properly.

Boulder spotlight

Boulder: an active town that has never had enough skate coaching

Boulder riders climb, run and ride bikes — skateboarding is often the one sport they never had anyone teach them. We coach it the same structured way: balance and stance first, then pushing, turning and stopping, then the park.

  • Lessons at the city skate park in Scott Carpenter Park
  • RTD access — easy for CU students and teens without a car
  • Restrooms open year-round in the park, per the city

How your first session actually goes

01

Meet at the quiet end

Your coach meets you at a specific meeting point — with a photo sent beforehand — at whichever park suits your level. No wandering a busy skatepark looking for someone.

02

Ten minutes of setup

Board fit, stance check, pads sorted. Plan on your own board and gear; if you're missing something, flag it when you book and we'll work it out.

03

Gamified, not drilled

Skills get taught as challenges and games — fun, friendly, and quietly structured so you're always a small step past comfortable.

04

Filmed when it helps

For riders past the basics, we film key attempts so you can see exactly what changed between the try that failed and the one that didn't.

What skating in Boulder is actually like

Wet concrete rules

Boulder's park posts a clear rule: no skating on wet surfaces. Front Range weather turns fast, so we pick morning or midday slots after the sun has dried things out.

Car-free access

The park has RTD access, which matters in a college town. Teens and students can get to a lesson without a ride.

Riders come to us from Baseline, Martin Acres, Table Mesa, North Boulder and everywhere in between.
