How Much Does Skate Camp Cost (and What to Look For)

Skate camp pricing is opaque on purpose. Two camps can charge the same weekly rate and deliver completely different weeks — one with a coach per four riders and a progression plan, one with a college kid watching thirty children loose on a ramp. The price alone won't tell you which is which. The questions below will.

What drives the price

• Coach-to-rider ratio — the single biggest factor. One coach per four riders costs more than one per fifteen, and it's worth more.
• Indoor vs outdoor — indoor facilities pay rent, so their camps cost more but run in any weather.
• Included gear — camps that supply boards and pads charge more; camps that expect your own cost less.
• Camp length — a 'week' might be five full days or five two-hour sessions. Compare hours, not days.

Questions that reveal a good camp

Ask these before you book anything: What's the maximum group size per coach? Are riders grouped by ability or just age? What does a rider who already knows the basics do while beginners learn to push? What happens when it rains? A good camp answers all four instantly. A bad one answers none.

Red flags

• No stated coach ratio — it means the number is embarrassing.
• “All levels welcome” with no ability grouping plan.
• No weather policy in a state with 4pm thunderstorms all summer.
• A website with no named coach — you should know exactly who's teaching your child.

How our camps work

We run camps as small private blocks rather than mass enrolment: four riders maximum per coach, ability-based grouping from day one, parks chosen around the group's level, and one named trick target per rider per camp.
